Black & White Boy puppies

Well its been a crazy, busy, sleepless week but we made it through it and all is well. It sure is hard to get good pictures of the babies. They are always wiggling to get to mommy or someone else is laying on them. So I will start with the 2 blk & wht boys and work my way through the litter. Sorry again for the pictures being # 2, 1 but I havent quite figured this all out. All the puppies are now over a pound, except little T-Tiny. She is just 8 oz :0(

Desi has finally decided that her babies are "NOT" aliens......hehehehe

She actually is starting to like them. T-Tiny is her favorite.

But don't tell the other kids they might get jealous.

Puppies

The Star of our Show is Little Miss T-Tiny. She was born at 7 3/8 ozs. but lost an oz., so she is now 6 3/8 ozs. We will need a few prayers for T as she is very fragile and small. The next few weeks will be bumpy to say the least.

Everyone else weighs in at 9 1/2 to 11 1/2 ozs.

Puppies have arrived

After having the X-ray done last Friday and the vet very worried about the position of one of the puppies. Oh an a big snow storm on its way. We decided that we would have the puppies delivered via c-section. I have been closely monitoring desi's temp so we could get her in before she went into full labor. This morning her temp had dropped so we ran her in for the C-Section. Mom and all 7 babies doing well at this time. As most of you know the next few days are the most critical. Desi is still really unsure of what is going on so have to watch her close til she understands she now has babies. And "NO" they are not aliens trying to eat the nipples off your belly....hehehe

Birth weight ~ 7 5/8 ozs. to 11 3/8 ozs.

Todays Visit to the Vets Office with Desi

Well this morning I took Desi to the vet to have an x-ray to see how many puppies we should expect to deliver. Unfortunatly, the puppies were bunched up and the center of her belly was dark and cloudy so we couldn't tell an exact #. From what we could see .... Vet #1 say atleast 5, Vet #2 says atleast 6 and I say I think there is 7. Now remember the center of the x-ray is dark and cloudy so there might be even more.

The reason I do x-rays is more then just to find out how many puppies. I get to see the skull size of the puppies to make sure no one is to big to be delivered. It also lets me know the position of the puppies. In Desi's case the puppies are bunched up but the first little one is the important one. My vet is VERY concerned on it position. That puppies is laying cross wise in front of the Exit Door. :0( So we have a C-Section scheduled for Christmas Eve. But if her temp drops sooner then that I will just take her in for the C-Section.

Desi Update

Desi has gotten so big that she has to use the snow pile to help her get up the front step. Problem with that....the snow pile melted away today.

The flip side to the snow pile is....it gave her nip sickles and frozen feet...which she hated.

When her feet got to cold and started to hurt, she would lay down, roll over and wait for us to come out and carry her in. Well let me tell you....that is not an easy thing to do. Last week the wind chills were nastey cold and she is now 40 lbs of dead weight, legs sprawled and no help from her to pick her up. Once she is in the house she runs for her bed where she proceeds to play with her bone while drying her back off. Cute Desi !!! :0)

Thank goodness the puppies are due next week. Don't think
I could keep carrying her in much longer...hehehe

Dozer is growing into a nice little boy. We have started with house & crate training and he is doing very well with both. His favorite time of the day is "Cookie Time".

Dozer is a fun loving boy but with the new litter due soon we are on the look out for a wonderful forever pet home.

ITs Garrett & Sarahs Fault

OK, I have beeen on Garrett & Sarah's blog pages so much lately trying to keep up on puppy news that i decided to try it out. If it doesn't turn out I am going to call you two and get help....hehehe I have to admit it sure is nice to be able to keep up with everyones puppy news.
